Police search for serial bank robber
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Authorities say a masked gunman has been busy, terrorizing bank employees across the metro. According to FBI Agent Clay Simmonds, "Serial robbers usually don't quit until they're caught."
He's hit eight banks since June of 2009.
The most recent hold up took place at the IBC Bank on N.W. Expressway.
Each time, he's armed with a semi-automatic weapon, threatening and even harming cooperative tellers.
Simmonds says " It seems it's escalating higher each time that these robberies take place. This individual assaulted some employees who were fully compliant during two of the robberies and he's using the firearm to control the crowd inside the bank prior to getting behind the bank counter."
Bank Of The West has been targeted most by this serial robber; five times in 10 months.
He's hit Norman, Midwest City and Edmond.
Bank officials want him caught as much as anybody.
They are now kicking in another $5,000 toward the reward.
