EDMOND, OK -- Shoppers are hitting Metro stores looking for deals these holidays, but police say it was steals, not deals, two women were after at the Edmond Old Navy store.
Glynda Chu, Edmond Police Department, said, "We have reached a whole new level of recklessness & desperation with shoplifters.
Two women came into Old Navy with a baby stroller, bad enough, there was a blaket over the top, but a store clerk recognized them from other Old Navy stores and knew they were probably there to steal."
Police say the suspects stuffed more than $400 worth of clothes into the baby stroller. The store clerk confronted them and asked them to leave immediately. She pulled the baby blanket back and sure enough - no baby - but stolen merchandise instead. And when the employee escorted them to the door, police say one of the women retailiated by spraying mace at her.
