Edmond woman allegedly defrauds millions from health care system

EDMOND, Okla. – Over-billed by millions of dollars. An Edmond woman and her son are facing a federal indictment for allegedly bilking the federal government on health care claims.

The alleged financial abuse spanned several years.

The mother worked as an office manager and part owner at a now-closed Oklahoma City health care clinic.

A federal indictment claims the woman and her son defrauded taxpayers by submitting numerous fraudulent claims for patient treatment they never performed.

The fraud stems from legitimate on the job injuries suffered by United States Postal Workers.

The federal indictment claims 51-year-old Farideh Heidarpour used those legitimate worker’s compensation claims to illegally profit from the federal government.

For example, the indictment details how Heidarpour would allegedly submit “duplicate or multiple billings for the same service.”

Teen’s attention in kidnapping leads to quick arrest

EDMOND, Okla — A 19-year-old college student was driving home from Stillwater following an evening with her boyfriend.

She pulled into a convenience store on Hwy 51 and I-35 for gas when she was confronted by a woman, claiming to have a  gun in her purse along with “bullets and knives.”

The suspect, 28-year-old Lacretia Foy-Jackson, demanded the teen drive her 45 miles away to Edmond.

Edmond Police Sgt. Chad Langley said, “She did the right thing by cooperating.”

The victim followed every request, eventually dropping Foy-Jackson at a rendezvous point with another car.

The teen drove away shaken but not injured.

The young lady pulled into the target parking lot and 2nd St. and Bryant, jumped out and flagged down an Edmond police officer.

She was able to give that officer a good car and suspect description.

A neighborhood on S. Byers is one of many where police showed up Thursday to arrest accused gang members.

The investigation this week centered on one specific Hispanic gang, allegedly operating as an organzied criminal enterprise.

“This gang has been acting as a business conducting criminal activity,” Knight said.
