Volunteers needed for annual Lake Sweep | Environment

A local park is seeking volunteers to help with an annual event that keeps a local lake beautiful for everyone.
Arcadia Lake is hosting the 15th annual Lake Sweep on Saturday, August 4, 2012.
Volunteers are needed to help clean up the shoreline of litter and other debris.
Organizers say volunteers in the past have come from individual families, church groups and boy and girl scout troops.
Volunteers can check in beginning at 7 a.m. at Spring Creek Park.
Once there, they will receive a t-shirt and brunch before the day begins.
Participants are being advised to bring sunscreen, insect repellent and their own gloves.
Sturdy shoes and long pants are preferred but not required.
Trash bags and assignments will be handed out at the registration table to each volunteers.
The event will wrap up around 10 a.m.
