Edmond nets largest LSD bust ever
News

EDMOND, Okla. -- An alert Edmond police officer ended up netting the biggest bust of LSD in Edmond history. Edmond Police Department Spokesperson Glynda Chu says, "We're very, very proud of our officer."

The police report states 18-year-old Eliot Matos Casiano told police he was headed to a party in Oklahoma City.

He was driving from 15th and Bryant to the party, but only made it as far as Broadway and South.

The officer noticed Casiano making an abrupt lane change and made a traffic stop.

During the stop, Casiano's hands were shaking when he handed the officer his license and expired insurance.

The officer's K-9 partner was brought in to sniff the car.

The dog started scratching and biting at the bottom of the passenger door seam.

That was enough for a search of Casiano and the car.

Chu says, "They found over 1,000 doses of LSD. This is the largest amount of LSD we have ever confiscated, ever seen in Edmond."

LSD isn't really a common drug anymore and officers hope its popularity is not on the rise.

Casiano was arrested for aggravated trafficking of LSD and possession of drug paraphernalia related to cocaine snorting devices also found in the car.

Police are still investigating to find out where the LSD came from so they can try to tackle this problem at the source.
